Humble Bio

Founded in 2013 by Lucy Carr-Ellison and Jemima Jones, Tart London began as a catering business for shoots to feed some of the most influential names in the fashion industry including Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Cara Delevingne, Gisele Bundchen and Eddie Redmayne. In February 2016, Lucy and Jemima were made regular food columnists for London’s Evening Standard Magazine, published weekly. April 2018 will see the release of their first cookbook, published by Penguin.

Unrivalled, the Tart London team has become the most sought-after and trusted choice caterers, counting Mert and Marcus, British, American and Paris Vogue, Love Magazine, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent, Mulberry and Stella McCartney among their loyal clients.
Using seasonal ingredients and sustainably sourced produce from local farms, Tart London is unique in all aspects of their approach. Working with each individual client on a specialized, tailor-made menu, Lucy and Jemima bring passion and excitement to their work, making everything on location using fresh ingredients. The pair met whilst living in New York (working on the other side of the camera in roles including fashion photography, production and modelling) and bonded over their mutual enthusiasm and love for hearty, authentic food. They are constantly discovering ingredients and creating new recipes. Both Lucy and Jemima share a love of travel, citing international trips as well as British towns and local farms, as a source of inspiration for their beautiful and vibrant dishes.

It’s perhaps a surprisingly little-known fact that for a fortified wine to be known as a Port it has to be produced in Porto, Portugal.

Bar trivia facts aside, port is a delicious dessert wine favoured the world over by people sat in grandfather chairs with a roaring log fire thrown in for good measure… but that’s not all there is to this very special wine. Port is equally at home as the perfect party-starter thanks to its high sugar and alcohol content.

Whether it’s January or July, Port wine should have a place on your table. For summer evenings, dig out that picnic blanket and meet your other half in the park with a chilled bottle, salted almonds, jamon and blue cheese. Come winter, run a hot bath, light a candle and sink into this Late Bottled Vintage.

Alternatively, get home on any day of the week that ends in Y, kick off your shoes and hunker down for the evening with a luxurious glass and a large bar of dark chocolate.
